Paris in July is on its way and Karen and I are preparing our plans and activities for the month. It's going to be awesome. We have a team of players this year, and each of us have chosen a key focus. My focus this year will Food and Travel.
I have an exciting opportunity to interview a real french chef - so I'm coming to you now - what you want to know from a real french chef? What would you like me to ask about? I'm keen to take ideas and suggestions before I do the interview.
What are you planning to do for Paris in July? Start posting your thoughts and inspire me and others!
I would like to know how long they train, what they feel are the best cooking schools, are they trained with specialties or in general and then specialize (pastry or other, for example). Any EASY recipes to share? Any references they'd pass on or favorite cookbooks to the novice chef who would like to learn French cooking but can't go to France. And I can't wait because no matter what he says, it'll be great!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, great questions. I'll definitely be asking for recipes.... perhaps something we could all try for Bastille day.
ReplyDeleteI would love his recipe for an easy French dish that a complete novice could make!
ReplyDeleteI'm always up for Paris in July, and it will have special meaning for me this year as I can't just take the train and be there in three hours anymore. :( I'd love a post about using fresh vegetables in French cooking--one of the things I admire the most about it.
ReplyDeleteI've had a look through your blog tamara, thanks for commenting on mine ...
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know how french chefs manage to get such intense flavour, I really noticed it when I was in France, and I'm not sure if we can get it here, even with the freshest ingredients.
I read your comment on Vicki's blog. Maybe you can take a look at this blog:
